So far, most (not all) of my complaints have either been fixed or - at the very least - are more functional than they used to be. With promises of more fixes on the way. Cool.
Host Migration works... sometimes. I'd like for it to work 100% of the time, but I can live with sometimes over never.
The Ping indicators work... when you're actually in-game. I'd like for them to work in the lobby too, but something that works at least part-way is better than nothing at all. Or, worse, is there but completely non-functional.
There has been DLC so far, with more planned. Supposedly, the PC version will even be getting the Dinobot and Insecticon DLC that the consoles are getting. Sweet!
I've heard people complain - endlessly - about certain things they want change. Like getting vehicle abilities (even though, if you play enough, you'll soon see the game doesn't really need them) or certain balance changes taking place - like nerfing the accuracy, range and/or power of the X18 (which still shreds FAR too fast with "Cyber Optics" ; or the Infiltrator car guns getting an accuracy nerf or damage de-buff (believe me, those shred far too fast as well; it's why you see so many infiltrators driving around in maps never going into robot mode). Other needed balance changes would be stuff like the EMP grenade, Slime Gun and Sentry-Rust perks just slowing down players instead of bringing them to a grinding halt.
The game still needs an anti-cheat. It's got hackers. Many of us have tried reporting them via Steam, but guys like " deadly fishes " are still trolling around with rapid fire and infinite Health Regenerators.
There are still glitches that allow players to get stuck on walls, able to do nothing but endlessly vibrate. Glitches that allow players to go bounding off into space if they're driving as a vehicle and a robot-form buddy bumps into them. Glitches that allow players to get "stomped" through the map and die, giving the enemy team a kill they didn't earn.
We still can't customize key layouts. (RRAAAARRRRGGHHH!!!)
And yes, there has been endless whining in the Steam forums. Both from console players and from PC gamers. Even I had my opening gripes and doubts - which I voiced on this very site. Note that those reviews have since been taken down. Not by the good folk(s) who run the site, but by me. That's right, I took them down. Read below to find out why:
The thing we all need to take away from what has been going on thus far is this: We're getting support. Maybe not as much as we'd like; perhaps not as much as we need. But we're getting it. Which is more than we ever got before. So far, the changes have been good. Sure, if the game is to be the perfection we all hope for, there's a ways to go yet. But it's a damned sight closer than War for Cybertron ever was and that's the unabashed truth of it.
HMS and Mercenary Games, if you guys are reading this post, then I want to encourage you to keep up the good work. And, if you can, maybe work just a teensy bit harder (yes, I know, that may be asking too much). This is a beautiful game. And, just as I predicted, it's a game I've come to love inspite of its flaws. Your hard work on fixing those flaws has made me love it even more. So keep up the good work. It may not mean much for me to say this, but here it is:
Transformers: Fall of Cybertron has the Official LordofNosgoth Seal of Approval. And, as such the [SfW] support you, your fine workers and your fine efforts. Soon, on this very page, we'll post a gameplay video to honor and commemorate your valiant efforts on this wonderful game.
And we all look forward to having those updates and patches we know you're working hard on.
'Till all are one.
